Enzi Applauds Decision to Rollback “Harmful” Energy Valuation Rule

Written by on August 8, 2017

Press Release – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., applauded the Department of the Interior’s decision today to repeal the Obama Administration’s coal, oil and gas valuation rule that would have stifled energy development.

“The Obama-era valuation rule was burdensome and confusing, but its intent was clear, to limit energy development on federal and tribal land. Rescinding the rule was the right way to go,” Enzi said. “I appreciate that the Trump Administration is continuing to rollback these harmful regulations that should have never been proposed in the first place. Our energy sectors should be encouraged to invest in the future for our communities and our country, not discouraged and punished for their efforts to create affordable energy.”
