The Gillette Lady Camels backed up their 2013 Indoor State Track and Field Championship with an outdoor title in Casper this weekend as they racked up 143 points to outdistance 2nd place Kelly Walsh by 40 points.
Playing with a man down in the final minutes of the 4A State soccer title game and trailing 1-0 the Gillette Camels were able to tie Laramie, but then ultimately lost in a shootout 2-1 (3-1) in Rock Springs on Saturday.
The Gillette Roughriders (6-13) played well enough against the Billings Scarlets on Saturday night, but they were unable to pick up a win against one of the top teams in the region.
For the 1st time since 2006 the Gillette Camels will play for a state championship in soccer.
