Bed races are returning to Gillette. A Music Festival and Bed Race will take place Saturday, September 28th at the Cam-plex Central Pavilion.
“It’s going to run from 4-10 p.m. The bed race will actually be at 6:00 p.m., but we need people to show up at 4:00 p.m. to sign up for that. We are going to have live music”---Event Organizers, Phil Stahla."It is pretty much un what you brung. We are going to have twin bed size as the smallest. They usually have four people pushing and one person riding. They used to do it on Gillette Ave during Crazy Days. They raced down the hill. Now we are going to do it a little differently. We are going to do this inside at Central Pavilion but we are going to a stop and go thing to try to keep the speed down.”
Stahla says the September 28th event will be a community fundraiser.
“Donations and all the proceeds are going to go to charities like Helping Hands, and also Kaid Frye, a little one year old boy who needs a liver transplant.”
Fun On The Go for the kids and BINGO for all ages will also be part of the event. For more information on the bed races and music festival including how to enter a team call Phil at 660-4393.
