At the January 7th Gillette City Council meeting, Tim Carsrud was officially appointed and sworn in as the newest council member. Carsrud will represent the residents in Ward 2. Carsrud, who had a lot of family in attendance to share the moment, said afterward he thought his first meeting went well and he looked forward to getting up to speed with all the issues.
“The first thing I want to do is get up to speed with projects and other stuff going on in the city, and work with this current council moving forward.”---Carsrud
Carsrud added that he welcomes residents to contact him with any any questions or concerns they wish to pass on.
“Absolutely, I encourage anybody that wants to get a hold of me to do so.”---Carsrud
Another highlight of the meeting was recognition of the City of Gillette Fiance Division. City Administrator Carter Napier said an excellence award in finance reporting came from the Government Fiance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
“This is, in my estimation, a very prestigious award, and it certainly is an award that recognizes the effective reporting and transparency in local government accounting.”---Napier
