Earlier this month the Lakeview Dare graduations had to be postponed due to a spring snowstorm. That ceremony was made up last Friday and included a special message from Governor Matt Mead. In a video message the Governor told the graduates that education is their shield against bad choices, and referred to them as the leaders of the next generation. Dare officer Rick Johnson talked about the importance of rescheduling the Dare graduation for the Lakeview students.
“Dare graduation is an important culmination of the whole Dare program, its important for the students to come to a presentation like this so they can reflect on the things that they have learned. Its also important for the parents to see the things we have done in the classroom, and to see how much we really care about the kids and how they succeed.”---Johnson
Johnson said the Dare Officers are always thankful for the support from all the parents of graduates and they were pleased with the impressive turnout for the rescheduled event.
“We just can’t thank them enough, we know how hard it is to get time off from work to do kids stuff especially in the middle of the day, and we had an awesome turnout from Lakeview School."
