At about one minute after midnight on May 20th, 2013, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 200 block of Newton Road. Lt Brent Wasson said that when officers arrived for a report of a disturbance, they found a 36-old-man bleeding in front of a residence. Wasson said the investigation shows the 36-year-old went to the residence of a 31-year-old man to confront him about having a "relationship" with his wife.
The investigation shows the 36-year-old attacked the 31-year-old resident in a bedroom and the fight continued into the living room. The 36-year-old allegedly struck the resident with a piece of wood and a metal pipe. The 31-year-old resident retrieved a Leatherman tool and a railroad spike, and "struck" the other man with the spike. Wasson said the fight stopped at that point and the 36-year-old contacted police.
Wasson said the 36-year-old who was struck with the spike was transported to the emergency room and he was treated and released. Wasson said the investigation continues and charges for the fight are pending. Wasson said both parties contact had been drinking.
