The City of Gillette announces the following road and lane closures, crack sealing repairs, and temporary water shut-off notices.
Westover Road/Metz Drive lane closure A contractor will be replacing a temporary concrete patch at the Westover Road/Metz Drive intersection on Wednesday, June 12th. This work is part of the Gillette Madison Pipeline Project. Northbound traffic on Metz Drive will be restricted to right-turn only onto Westover Road, and Westover Road traffic will not be able to access Metz Drive directly from Westover Road - vehicle access will have to use Burma Avenue to get to Metz Drive. Smithie Road Smithie Road wil be closed from Wednesday, June 12th through Friday, June 21st to allow a contractor to fix settlements around manholes and patching streets. Traffic Control [PDF]
Tong Lane Tong Lane will be closed from Monday, June 24th through Friday, June 28th to allow a contractor to fix settlements around manholes and patching streets. Traffic Control [PDF]
Crack Sealing (Lakeway Road, 4J Road, Gurley Avenue) A contractor will be crack sealing on Lakeway from 4-J Road to Boxelder Road for the next three nights (June 11 - 13th). Then they will move to 4-J from Lakeway Road to West 4-J Road for four nights (June 14th - 17th.) Then they will move to Gurley Avenue between the Gurley Overpass and Warlow Drive for three nights (June 18 - 20th.)
These roads will be open, but drivers will see traffic control in these areas. Please drive with caution around construction workers. All of this work is "weather permitting."
Temporary Water Shut-off (Apricot Street from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) There will be a temporary water shut-off on Apricot Street from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue to Beech Street on Wednesday, June 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is to make the final connection to the new waterline to Apricot Street.
