At yesterday's Campbell County Commissioners meeting, the commissioners adopted the fiscal year 2013/14 budget. Commissioners chairman, Dan Coolidge was pleased with the process.
“Budget was about 8 to 9 % lower than last year, last year we were around one hundred seventy million and this year we were just over one hundred fifty five million.”---Coolidge
Coolidge said they were able to accomplish pretty much everything they wanted to and added that the different county entities were very responsible in their budget request, which meant they didn’t have to make many cuts and funds were available to complete projects that began last year.
“ Northern Drive, the Children’s Center, the Rec Center Extension in Wright, the Bell Knob Club House, and some other projects, and we were also able to set aside money for the future relocation of the road and bridge facility and the solid waste transfer station that’s currently located at Dump Hill and those will all be relocated out to the state section north of town. In addition to that, we were able to put a fair amount of money into savings for future projects.”---Coolidge
