If you often used the Gurley Overpass in Gillette for travel, your commute is about to experience disruption. At last night’s Gillette City Council meeting the council approved a maintenance project that will result in about a two week closer.

“We are recommending that the sealing take place to reduce the potential infiltration of corrosive materials and so forth, that this structure receives from time to time. The Second Annual James Hladky Memorial Rocking Fall Classic event takes place on Saturday, September 14th, in Gillette. The event includes a car show and fun run, plus much more.

At 11:25 p.m. on September 1st, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Black Hills St. When Fire units arrived the house was fully engulfed in fire and a utility trailer, travel trailer and siding on a home to the north of the fire were beginning to burn. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the storage unit and stole the following items. An 18 inch Husqvarna Chainsaw in an old orange case, an 18 inch Jonarude Chainsaw with a red blade cover, a green gas powered weed eater, and a Ryobi Tile Saw. Chamber of Commerce will host a Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) parent and student information night. This meeting is to inform interested students currently in grades 6-12 and their families about the YEA! program coming to Campbell County starting in October.
Attendees will learn about the structure, curriculum, and application process for the YEA! program. Business leaders can learn how to get involved with YEA! as a mentor, guest lecturer, field trip host or even as a sponsor.
