At about one minute after midnight on May 20th, 2013, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 200 block of Newton Road. Lt Brent Wasson said that when officers arrived for a report of a disturbance, they found a 36-old-man bleeding in front of a residence. Wasson said the investigation shows the 36-year-old went to the residence of a 31-year-old man to confront him about having a "relationship" with his wife. The City of Gillette and Campbell County will host the Wyoming Conference of Building Officials (WCBO.) June 12th - 14th. Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson provided an update Thursday on the investigation into several burglaries police believe occurred at offices Tuesday on the 300 block of South Miller. Wasson said, upon further investigation, it is believed that the 40-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody Tuesday after being located by police hiding in an office ceiling, is the same man a witness reported fleeing the scene after falling through the ceiling into the office of the witness. At about 8:13 pm on May 17th, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office responded to Fox Park Road. Undersheriff Scott Matheny said a 46-year-old Gillette man was seriously injured in a vehicle accident. Matheny said that a passer-bye found a wrecked 2012 Polaris ATV and contacted dispatchers about the crash victim.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day; and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Yesterday, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office hosted a memorial ceremony which included a roll call of fallen officers who have died over the years while on duty in Wyoming.
