Fatal Crash - Natrona County - 10/20/12

Both vehicles were southbound on Interstate 25 in the right lane. Ryan M. Nordstrom (27) of Mohawk MI came upon the vehicle of Daniel L. Barto (27) of Butte MT, which was traveling at a slower speed and ran into the rear of the U-haul trailer that was being towed behind the Barto vehicle.
The impact caused Barto to lose control of his vehicle and it went into the median where it rolled coming to rest on its top across both northbound lanes of the Interstate. Nordstrom’s vehicle went off the right side of the Interstate and came to rest near the right-of-way fence.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 25 were closed for approximately 5 hours. All northbound traffic was re-routed off the Interstate through Midwest.
Upon completion of the crash investigation Troopers will forward all information to the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office. That office will make the final determination of the filing of any criminal charges as a result of this fatal crash.
