Local Drag Racer Andie Gaskins, from Gillette, had a good weekend, last weekend.
“I took my Harley Destroyer to Sturgis, at the rally, and competed in the pro class, which is the biggest competitive class and was able to get through all of the routes and come home with a big win for the Gillette hometown girl,” said Gaskins.
“I was up against a lot of different bikes, all male competition,” she said. “I got up there and did my thing and rocked it out.”
Gaskins was also named a Legend on Buffalo Chip's Legend Ride. Legends are selected to encourage other riders, according to Gaskins, to “be great.”
“I was a Legend this year, and I have also been a Biker Belle, for the Buffalo Chips for the past three years. So, for them to ask me to be a legend, as well as a Biker Belle, was a huge honor,” she said.
Gaskins says she'll will soon be holding a fundraiser in Gillette, and will be attending Las Vegas Bike Week and Daytona Biketoberfest in October.
