The Gillette Girls Tennis team is in first place, heading into Day Three of the State Tennis Tournament. The Camels have 32 points, Natrona County and Laramie are tied for second with 27.
Gillette’s Number two singles, and top two doubles teams are in today's championship bracket finals. Lauren Miller advanced, at number two singles, with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Trystyn Phillips of Natrona County.
Gillette’s Sanders and Cook advanced to the finals, in number one doubles, with a 7-6, 7-4, 6-3 win over a team from Laramie. The number two doubles team of Knudson and Adsit beat the team from Natrona County, 6-3, 7-6, 7-3, to advance to the championship round.
Gillette's Madison Hinshaw will compete, today, in the championship round of the consolation bracket, the Camels' number three doubles team of Toscana and Sallee will also compete in the consolation final.
The Camel boys are currently in second with 28 points. Laramie heads into the final day of the state tournament, in first-place, with 35.
Gillette's number two singles player Sam Belden has advanced to the final with a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 win over Cody's Trey Blough. The Camels' number one doubles team of Hinkel and Vetter also made the finals, with a 6-3, 6-2 win over a team from Laramie.
Gillette's Sam Coulter will play in today's number one singles consolation final. Their number two doubles team of Nutting and Okray will also compete in today's consolation final.
