he Gillette Camel Football team found itself trailing 10-7, midway throught the third quarter, Friday against Cheyenne Central.
It was the first time, this season, that the Camels had trailed in the second half, but they took the lead in the fourth with a two-yard touchdown run from Tychun Aipperspach, and then recorded a late safety to come away with a 16-7 win. The game was delayed over an hour and forty minutes, at halftime because of lightning during a torrential downpour in Cheyenne.
The top-ranked Camels are on the road, this Friday in Casper, against Natrona County, in a rematch of last year's State Title game.
The Mustangs are 2-1 after a 21-3 win over Laramie, on Friday. Gillette is 3-0.
Elsewhere, Glenrock blanked Moorcroft, 28-0, on Friday. Moorcroft hosts Newcastle, Friday afternoon, in their homecoming game. The Dogies lost in a shootout, 50-43, against Big Horn last week.
The Wright Panthers fell to Burns 20-6, and Upton-Sundance defeated Rocky Mountain, 16-6. Wright is home against Wheatland, this Friday, the Patriots are off until the 27th, when whey host Big Horn.
