The Gillette Camel football team improved to 8-0, Friday night, with a 52-6 homecoming win over Laramie. Gillette totaled well over 300 yards on the ground as quarterback Austin Fort gained 146 yards on five carries, Tychun Aipperspach picked up 124 yards on 17 carries, both players scored two touchdowns.
Fort also connected on a touchdown pass with Cody Kelley; and Billy Williams returned an interception over 40 yards for a touchdown.
Kade Greer registered the only score of the second half, with a 29 yard touchdown run.
The win, combined with a Sheridan loss, secures homefield advantage for Gillette during the postseason.
Natrona County went on the road and beat the Broncs, 38-20.
The Camels will close out their regular season, next week, on the road against Cheyenne East, who knocked off Evanston, 41-6, Friday night.
Elsewhere in Class 4A, Kelly Walsh beat Cheyenne Central, 34-26. Cheyenne South picked up its first win in program history, Friday night, beating Rock Springs, 16-14.
In Class 2A, Moorcroft fell to Big Horn, 52-20.
Newcastle trounced Tongue River, 56-15; and in Class 1A, Lingle-Ft Laramie shut out Upton-Sundance, 26-0.
