The Campbell County High School boys and girls basketball teams both closed out the ReMax Professionals Camel Invite with wins, Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Camels downed Rock Springs, 73-43, with three players scoring in double figures. Jessie Geer led all scorers with 16 points; Taylor Deaton and Heaven Lint each chipped in eleven.
The win snaps a two-game losing streak, for the Camels, who fell to Bismarck Century and Pueblo South in the opening two days of the tournament. Their overall record is 2-2.
The Gillette boys beat Scottsbluff, 85-63, behind a career-high 39 points from Cody Kelley, who scored 15 points in the first period as the Camels raced out to a 24-10 lead and never looked back.
Kelley had 26 points at halftime as the Camels improved to 3-1. They fell to Bismarck Century, Thursday, and then rebounded with a win over Rock Springs on Friday.
Both teams will hit the road, this week, for Green River, where they’ll compete in the Flaming Gorge Invite. They’ll each face Union (from Roosevelt, Utah) on Thursday afternoon; Riverton on Friday morning; and Evanston on Saturday morning.
