Lady Camels Dominate the Gillette Invite

4 members of the Gillette Lady Camels golf team all shot low enough during a two-day invite on their home course, Bell Nob, to place in the top 6 and win the team title by 127 strokes over 2nd place Riverton.

For the Camels if they could've shot as well on day 1 as they did on day 2 they probably would've won their home invite. Instead they had to settle for a tie for 3rd place after a two-day team total of 657, but the Camels shot 31 strokes better as a team during the 2nd day.

Haley Shackelford and Ashlyn Pearson finished 1 and 2 with a 157 and 161 respectively. Jandey Shackelford shot back to back 88's for 5th place overall and Julia Seamanship had two days under to finish in 6th place.

For the Camels they were led by Danny Davis who carded a 145 and put him in 3rd place. Laramie's John Murdock won in a tiebreaker over East's Quinton Pope as they each finished regulation with a 143.Alex King, playing for the 1st time this season. Shot 18 strokes better on day 2 to climb up into the top 10 at #9 with a two day 164. Cody and Corbin Eastman shot a 174 and 182 respectively while Eli Voight was 5th on the team with a 187.

Next up for the CCHS Golf Teams is a trip to Powell and Cody Friday, August 24th and Saturday the 25th.
