Gillette, Wyo.--It was not a good night for Gillette College mens basketball (1-1) on Saturday night. Dwight Anderson had to leave the game after receiving two technical fouls and Lorenzo Bonham was ejected as well. It was that kind of night for the Pronghorns, as they fell, 83-77, to the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers.
Other than a 2-0 lead, Gillette College never led in the contest. The Pronghorns tied it up early a couple times and even trailed 56-55 in the second half, but couldn't come back on top. Anderson tried to bring the Pronghorns back by scoring three consecutive three-pointers, a deuce and four free throws late in the second half, but the Lancers success from the charity stripe helped keep it out of reach.
Anderson was called for his second Technical foul with 1:32 left in the game. Bonham was ejected with 8:47 left in the second half as well.
Anderson had 23 points in the game to lead the Pronghorns with Jayden Walsh putting up 18. Walsh was eight for nine with his field goal attempts.
Gillette College travels to Williston State (N.D.) for a two game set. The Pronghorns play Williston State on Friday and United Tribes Technical College on Saturday.
