Gillette, Wyo.--Casper College (21-7, 12-3) led by as much as 19 points in Wednesday night's contest against Gillette College (16-11, 10-5) and avenged the 91-86 loss the Pronghorns handed the T-Birds in Casper ion the 19th of January. It was a 77-64 final at the South Campus on Wednesday night.
Gillette College kept it close in the first half and even led a couple times in the match. However, the triples helped Casper College hold a 40-33 lead at half time.
Gillette College couldn't seem to keep a hold of the ball as there were numerous passes on offense that were to strong or behind teammates throughout the game that kept the Pronghorns from getting good looks for shots. Most of the stats were close. However, Casper College was able to run away from Gillette College halfway through the second half.
The Thunderbirds were able to do so off the hands on Ryan Madsen, who had three triples in the second half. Free throws haloed as well, but the Pronghorns had many one-and -done offensive sets, too.
Madsen led all players with 17 points; Andre Marquez led Gillette College with 13 points.
Despite the loss, the Pronghorns won't do worse than a #4 seed in the Region IX tournament since Western Wyoming Community College defeated Northwest College on the road in Powell, Wyo. Wednesday night.
The Pronghorns wrap up their regular season at home on Saturday against Northwest College. Game time is set for 5pm. You can hear the game on 93.3 The Legend and online at https://www.network1sports.com/station/kled.
