Gillette, Wyo.--Dylan Haddix, a standout for Campbell County High School's boys basketball team, has signed his national letter of intent to play for the Gillette College Pronghorns next season.
Haddix averaged 8.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game his senior year. He had options to go to college to play football, but like the idea of staying close to home, choosing Gillette College to play basketball.
Head Coach Shawn Neary of the Pronghorns said, "...when you think about [Dylan] and his game, I think he just keeps getting better every year... we're looking forward to that continued development here."
Dylan will be the third Camel to play for Gillette College- the other two being Brean Tennant and Matt Mordecai.
Neary says that has a bunch to do with the basketball program at Campbell County High School.
"Year in, year out, Gillette [High School] has the best basketball in the state. I don't think there's any question about that. Anytime we can get a player out of that program, it's a plus for us. It makes such a difference when you get players that are coming out of programs that are well coached. And I think with Coach Curry and Coach Hladky, [Dylan]'s been well coached."
Haddix will be joining Dwight Anderson, Jayden Walsh, Ben Glover and Rickey Suggs on the Pronghorns squad. Anderson and Walsh will be returning for their second season with Gillette College, while Glover and Suggs came to Gillette College after the winter break of the 2012-13 season.
