The Gillette Roughriders jumped out to a three-run first inning lead over Sturgis, last night, and never looked back as they beat the Titans, 8-2 in Game 1 of their double header.
Starting pitcher Tyler Tennant pitched seven strikeouts over six innings, and gave up three hits, as he picked up the win in the mound. Centerfielder Andrew Youngs was 3-for-3 at the plate, with two singles and a triple, left fielder Jarran Arbach was 2-for-4, third baseman Alex King was 2-for-3, catcher Austin Tennant was 1-for-4 with three RBI.
The Roughriders won the second game, 6-3, and improved their record to 27-34.
The Roughriders will compete in the Pev Evans Tournament, in Rapid City, today through Sunday. They face Longmont this afternoon.
