The Gillette Roughriders opened the Pev Evans Tournament with a win, yesterday in Rapid City, by beating Longmont, Colorado, 6-3.
This was the Longmont team that recently won the 28th Annual Hladky Tournament, in Gillette. Tanner Rogen got the win on the mound, as he struck out two and allowed seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. Wyatt Estabrook recorded the save.
Rogen also went 3-3 with 2 RBI at the plate. Alex King went 3-4. Jarran Arbach was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI.
The tournament continues today, for the Roughriders, with a pair of games, this morning. The first is against against Spearfish, at 9 a.m. That'll be followed by a matchup with Mitchell at 11:30.
