The Gillette Roughriders beat Davy Jones, 16-9, Saturday in the Pev Evans Tournament at Rapid City.
The Roughriders scored seven runs in the top of the first inning, and then two more in the top of the third, as they went on to pick up their second win of the tournament. Gillette was led offensively by Ian Durgin, who got on base four times, scored three runs and had two RBI. He was 2-for-3 at the plate, and walked twice. Jarran Arbach was 3-for-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Tanner Rogen also had 2 RBI, as he went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Gillette closed out the weekend tournament, Sunday night, with a 6-2 loss to Post 22. The Roughriders scored both of their runs in the top of the first inning, but couldn't hold on.
Gillette will travel to Casper, tomorrow, for a match up with the Oilers.
