Attorneys General For Virginia & Kentucky Plead With Judge For Relief To Miners Hung Out To Dry By Black Jewel’s Incompetence

Written by on July 19, 2019

In a joint letter to the bankruptcy court handling the Chapter 11 proceedings of Black Jewel, LLC, The Attorneys General of Virginia and Kentucky pleaded with the Hon. Matthew J. Hayes to provide relief for hundreds of miners and their families facing catastrophe after Black Jewel abruptly filed for bankruptcy two weeks ago.

The checks issued by Black Jewel to it’s employees bounced, creating overdrawn checking accounts and multiple overdraft fees leaving some familes unable to pay their bills and facing economic ruin.
