At yesterday's lunch meeting between the town of Wright, City of Gillette, and Campbell County Representatives, one of the topics touched on was the joint powers agreement for the land board. That discussion centered around the Campbell County Commissioners making the case for an eighty -twenty split between the city and county in funding for Camplex.

If you take an interest in skateboarding you’re invited to share your voice at the skate park design workshop, which will be May 23rd, at 6 p.m.. County Administrator, Robert Palmer said tomorrow nights work on the skate park will be held at the Gillette College Tech Center.

CCMH Summer Junior Volunteer Program Begins June 12

GILLETTE, W.Y. — Campbell County Memorial Hospital’s (CCMH) Junior Volunteer Program, begins June 12, 2013. Interested youth ages 12-17 years should contact Lacey Henningsen, Volunteer Coordinator at 688-1536 by Monday, June 3 to complete an application and schedule an interview. Close Vote On Code Enforcement

At last night's Gillette City Council meeting the council had consideration on first reading
of an ordinance to amend the Gillette city code concerning enforcement of section 17-21 by special municipal officers. City administrator Carter Napier informed council members the primary focus would be the "no watering on Mondays" aspect of the water-wasting ordinance. Read more: Close Vote On Code Enforcement
Buffalo Stampede to Benefit Hospice

GILLETTE, WY – The 12th Annual Buffalo Stampede, Durham Ranch 5k/10K Walk/Run, will benefit Campbell County Memorial Hospital’s Hospice department and the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 1 at the Durham Buffalo Ranch, located 4 miles north of Wright on Highway 59. Event sponsors include Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Devon, Keyhole Marina, Thunder Creek, Powder River Basin Energy Cooperative and Sign Boss.

Railroad Spike Fight

At about one minute after midnight on May 20th, 2013, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 200 block of Newton Road. Lt Brent Wasson said that when officers arrived for a report of a disturbance, they found a 36-old-man bleeding in front of a residence. Wasson said the investigation shows the 36-year-old went to the residence of a 31-year-old man to confront him about having a "relationship" with his wife.

Gillette hosts Wyoming Conference of Building Officials In June

The City of Gillette and Campbell County will host the Wyoming Conference of Building Officials (WCBO.) June 12th - 14th. The WCBO is dedicated to building safety through education, and this conference will include the 2013 WCBO business meeting, educational seminar, and coal mine tour.
