At the April 1st Gillette City Council Meeting, there was plenty of public comment on an ordinance to amend section 17-21 of the Gillette City Code concerning water wasting. Six different citizens took to the microphone and provided mostly concern over the ordinance. Ultimately, the council approved the water wasting ordinance on its third and final reading. Council members Robyn Kuntz and Forest Rothleutner provided the only votes against the ordinance on its third reading. At 9:08 p.m. the Campbell County Fire Department responded to 1500 Cimarron Drive for a structure fire. CCFD responded to the scene and upon arrival found a fire burning in the basement of the

Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a burglary that occurred at Don’s Super Market on March 11th 2013. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into Don’s by breaking the glass out of one of the walk-in doors. Once inside the business the suspects stole approximately 8 21st Century electronic cigarettes, one carton of Camel Crush cigarettes and $130 in cash from the coffee shop. The City of Gillette's Annual Spring Cleanup is undergoing some changes for 2013. It will now be the Drive + Drop. The City of Gillette Engineering and Development Services Department has announced that West Boxelder Road will be closed from Granite Street to 4-J Road commencing Monday, April 1, 2013. This is a result of the Boxelder Road Extension, Phase II-B Project.

At 12:47 p.m. the Campbell County Fire Department responded to the intersection of W. Lakeway Road and Skyline Drive for a two vehicle collision. Fire department personnel were requested to mitigate a fuel leak from a semi truck. Authorities believe the leak was contained at 120-200 gallons of diesel fuel. Gillette Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson said that the were were no serious injuries. A 53-year-old man was cited for failure to stop for a red light. In 2012, City of Gillette Animal Control Officers filed over 1,100 lost and found reports. The 4,024 calls for service in 2012 averaged 11.2 calls per day and 1,118 lost and found reports filed.
