The Gillette Camel boys' basketball team trailed, 32-31, at halftime of Friday night's game against Rock Springs, but the Camels outscored the Tigers 54-27, in the second half, and beat Rock Springs, 86-58. Gatorade, along with USA Today, announced Friday that Campbell County High School's Sidney Matheny has been named the 2013-2014 Gatorade Wyoming Volleyball Player of the Year.
The 5'11 senior middle blocker registered 311 kills, 44.5 blocks, 39 digs and 17 service aces, this past season, as she led the Camels to a 29-4 record, and a trip to the Class 4A State Championship Match.
Matheny has also maintained a 3.74 grade point average, and is a member of the National Honor Sopciety, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Campbell County High School D.A.R.E Chapter. She is undecided as to where she will go to college.

The Century High School Girls' Basketball team knocked off Gillette, 51-45, last night behind 16 points from 6'2 senior Alaina Furcht, who scored thirteen of her points in the second half.
Gillette got 16 points from Julia Seamans, as they fell to 1-1.
They'll look to bounce back tonight, at home against Pueblo South. The game tips off at 6, coverage starts at 5:45 on 97.3 Camel FM and basinsradio.com.
The Gillette Boys basketball team also suffered its first loss, as the Camels fell to Century, 63-51.
Gillette got 19 points from Cody Kelley, and ten from Garrett Schempp, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Patriots, who had three starters score in double figures.
The Camels are home tonight against Rock Springs. That game will follow the girls' game on 97.3 Camel FM and Basinsradio.com.
Elsewhere, the Wright Panther boys basketball team will compete in the Herder Classic, today and tomorrow, in Glenrock. They'll take on Kaycee and Southeast, today, and then Thermopolis and Greybull tomorrow.
The Lady Panthers face Southeast, today in Glenrock, and Thermopolis and Greybull on Saturday.
