Candidates For Campbell County Fire Chief At Last Night’s Meet & Greet

Scott Hannum is currently the City Manager for the City of Rawlins, a position he has held full time since 2017 and served as the interim since 2015. His background includes thirty one years in the fire service where he started as a volunteer firefighter in 1985, then moved to a career position in 1987. Served as Fire Chief for the Rawlins Fire Department from 2005 to 2016 when he retired. Professional experience also includes 15 years in the commercial fire suppression installation business, he has served on local and state associations, is a past president of the Wyoming Fire Chiefs Association. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program, and holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science.
Scott Blue brings four decades of fire and emergency service experience. A native of Ashburn, Georgia his career began by enlisting in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. After completing his enlistment he continued in the fire service with multiple agencies where he has served in every capacity, with the past 15 years in the role of Fire Chief. He served 10 years as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for Heard County Fire and Emergency Services in Franklin, Georgia and recently retired as Fire Chief from Carroll County Fire Rescue in Carrollton, Georgia. Scott obtained an Associate of Science in Fire Science Technology from West Georgia Technical College, a Certificate of Local Government Management from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University where he graduated summa cum laude.
Jeff Bender has 30 years of fire service experience with both combination and career fire departments in California. Chief Bender worked through the ranks of the fire service serving as Firefighter, Fire Captain, Deputy Chief and Fire Chief. Chief Bender was instrumental in the formation of East Valley Fire Command, a functional consolidation effort between the Cities of Colton and Loma Linda to increase their fire department command staff capacity. Chief Bender has served 11 years on the CONFIRE JPA Administrative Chiefs Committee, providing direction for the Regional Emergency Communications Center serving 11 jurisdictions throughout San Bernardino County (CA).
