Gillette City Council voted unanimously last night to move forward with it’s plans to expand the Energy Capital Sports Complex.
It’s was standing room only as sports enthusiasts young and old addressed the council, all in support of the City’s idea to add two new multipurpose fields, a splash pad, and an ADA compliant playground as well as additional parking.
As a result of last night’s vote the various elements of the project will now be let out for bid.
The design for the buildout of the Energy Capital Sports Complex includes two multipurpose turf fields (with a possible third field), a splash park, and an inclusive playground space with ADA equipment. An expansion of the existing parking lot is included, as well as pathways and bathroom facilities in the location of the fields and park spaces.
