The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on March 28, 2017
At 5:21 p.m. to S. Highway 59 for an emergency medical response. Upon fire department arrival, the patient was deceased.
At 7:50 p.m. to 204 Fairway Drive for the report of a child trapped underneath several large boulders. Fire department personnel arrived on scene and found that several large landscape rocks had shifted trapping the child by the chest and head. Fire department personnel were able to extricate the child after approximately 40 minutes. The prolonged extrication of the patient was due to the technical requirements of the rescue and the large unstable rocks. Fire department personnel were assisted by other responders from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Gillette Police Department, and Campbell County Health EMS.
The child was transported for medical evaluation.
