Test Your Truck’s Power

Press Release – The Gillette College Diesel Club will host the “Gillette College Power Challenge” Dyno Competition and
Show and Shine on Saturday, May 6, also giving high school and college students, as well as community members, the opportunity to test their vehicles’ power.
The competition is for the large trucks/semi’s on the Gillette College’s chassis dynamometer (Dyno), as well as the high school division for pickups. Gillette College contracted with Auto Trends chassis dynamometer of Fort Collins Colorado, for automotive type vehicles and can test rear wheel drive, all-wheel drive and front wheel drive vehicles. The cost is $80 per vehicle and $50 for high school and Gillette College students on the Gillette Dyno.
There will be 3 competitions being held on the Auto Trends Dyno for diesel pickups: Stock (stock size turbo), Pro Street (multiple turbo’s or larger than stock turbo), and Unlimited (any and all aftermarket parts). There will also be a class for automotive gasoline/spark ignited vehicles on the Auto Trends Dyno. Prizes will be awarded to the top three places in each class.
The show and shine has 4 divisions People’s Choice, High School student vehicle, Pick-Up, Car and Semi. Prizes will be awarded to the top two places in each class. Show and shine all entries must be on site by 10:00 a.m. Entry Fee is $20 for the general public and $15 for high school students.
Campbell County High School teachers are encouraged to bring students to the event. Dyno’s will be running 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside Gillette College’s Technical Education Center. Tours of Gillette College and the Tech Center open house will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We invite the public and students to come check out Gillette College, talk with current students, instructors, and see our beautiful facilities. Admissions and Advising will be onsite to help answer all of your questions and help register for summer and fall courses,” Said Travis Grubb, Gillette College diesel technology instructor.
