Navy Ships In Deadly Collisions Had Poor Training Records

The two US Navy destroyers involved in deadly collisions this past summer both had records of failing to fulfill key training requirements.The USS Fitzgerald had expired training certification for multiple key warfare mission areas in June, and the USS John S. McCain had let its certifications lapse in quite a few areas as well.
