Ramaco Carbon Announces Production Partnership with Carbon

Written by on November 10, 2017

Press Release – Ramaco Carbon, LLC, of Sheridan Wyoming, today announced a production partnership agreement with Carbon, a Silicon Valley-based 3D manufacturing company. Under this agreement, Ramaco Carbon will produce a variety of products and component parts for third parties using Carbon’s innovative, high-speed 3D printers. These components will be manufactured at Ramaco’s Wyoming iPark industrial facility outside of Sheridan, Wyoming. Ramaco expects to announce some of the first products soon, which will be produced using this advanced manufacturing process.

Carbon’s 3D printing is regarded as the most advanced form of new manufacturing technologies, working at the intersection of hardware, software, and molecular science. Its SpeedCellä system and Digital Light Synthesisä technology deliver a breakthrough process that uses digital light projection, oxygen permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with exceptional mechanical properties, resolution, and surface finish.

Ramaco Carbon intends to create a series of carbon-based industrial and manufacturing facilities at its integrated Brook Mine, iCAM and iPark. Together, these three components will provide manufacturers with the world’s only fully integrated carbon resource, research, development and production facility.

“We are extremely excited to bring Carbon, a high-tech pioneer and global leader in 3D printing and manufacturing, to Wyoming as our partner,” said Randall Atkins, Chairman and CEO Ramaco Carbon. “3D printing is becoming the transformative advanced manufacturing technique of the 21st century. Our shared vision for the iCAM and iPark is to be a leader in the future of enhanced carbon technology and manufacturing.  Having a partner like Carbon join us on this journey is proof of that vision coming to fruition. Together, we hope to bring innovation to carbon manufacturing and expand into new and developing markets.”

“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Ramaco, our first production partner in Wyoming,” said Dana McCallum, Head of Production Partnerships at Carbon. “Carbon and Ramaco are committed to helping companies develop high performing, cost effective products using Carbon’s technology and materials. The Wyoming iPark and iCAM is a growing research campus and will be a great place for companies to come together in the industrial manufacturing industry.”
