About 7:30 pm on January 14th the Gillette Police Department received a report of a mountain lion in Gillette.
South Gillette Game Warden Dustin Kirsch said the animal was tracked to the area of Mount Pisgah Cemetery but not located at that time.
This morning a predator board trapper located a track and the animal was tracked south to the Concho Valley area near Southern Drive. It was located under a car. North Gillette Game Warden Kristen DaVannon also assisted with the search.
The female mountain lion was tranquillized and will be released at a later time.
Kirsch estimated the animal was 100 pounds and between 1 and 3 years old.
