Game and Fish Requests Help in Solving a Wildlife Crime

Press Release – On January 13, 2018, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department received a report of a wounded antelope near the town of Wright, Wyoming. North Gillette Game Warden Kristen DaVanon and Wildlife Biologist Erika Peckham arrived at the reported location west of the end of Teton Drive in Wright. Upon arriving they discovered a buck antelope which appeared to have been run over by a vehicle and was paralyzed requiring Warden DaVanon and Biologist Peckham to euthanize the antelope.

Further investigation by South Gillette Game Warden Dustin Kirsch revealed the buck antelope had been intentionally ran over by a motor vehicle and left in the field just west of Teton Drive. The wanton destruction of the buck antelope is believed to have occurred in the late evening hours of January 12, 2018 or the early morning hours of January 13, 2018. Evidence was collected at the scene but the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is requesting anyone with information on this wildlife crime to contact them.

Individuals submitting information leading to a conviction may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 through the Wyoming Wildlife Protector’s Association.
