CCFD Busy With 100+ Acre Fire And Other Calls

The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on August 16, 2018
At 2:30 a.m. to Highway 50 for an emergency medical response. Firefighters provided medical care and manpower while on scene.
At 9:56 a.m. to E. 5th Street for an emergency medical response. Firefighters provided medical care and manpower while on scene.
At 11:10 a.m. to 114 Four J Road, the Way Station for the report of an automatic fire alarm activation. Firefighter determined it was an accidental activation and reset the alarm system.
At 2:03 p.m. to 3801 College Drive, the Gillette College for the report of an automatic fire alarm activation. All fire department units were cancelled prior to arriving on scene.
At 3:22 p.m. to 5660 E. Boxelder Road, the Gillette College Ag Building for the report of an automatic fire alarm activation. All fire department units were cancelled prior to arriving on scene.
At 5:43 p.m. to the SA Road for the report of a grass/timber fire. The fire has been named the Spotted Horse Creek Fire and is currently 112.7 acres. 14 Firefighters responded to the incident from the Campbell County Fire Department, they are being assisted by resources from the Bureau of Land Management and the Wyoming State Forestry Division. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
At 8:44 p.m. to Hunt Avenue for an emergency medical response. Firefighters provided medical care to the patient on scene and checked the inside of the residence for hazards.
At 9:08 p.m. to 411 E. Laramie Street, Lot 4 for the report of a structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a water heater which had failed. The failure caused smoke and a burning odor throughout the residence. Firefighters isolated power to the water heater and ensured the fire was out. Six firefighters responded to the scene.
Year to date the Campbell County Fire Department has responded to 1350 requests for service.
