Judging by Rih’s choice to use Glover’s song in her latest post, it seems the two are getting along quite well and fans are already hoping for a musical collaboration in their future. Whether or not that pans out, Gambino is already confirmed to close out Rih’s Diamond Ball with a special performance, while Issa Rae is set to host.
News of Rihanna’s role in Guava Island follows the singer’s memorable part in this year’s Ocean’s 8, which saw her hit the big screen alongside Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway. Her upcoming film is said to feature Nonso Anozie and Letitia Wright as well.
As for Glover, the film’s production marks another accomplishment in a busy year. Season 2 of his acclaimed FX series Atlanta aired earlier in 2018, and he reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 with his politically-charged single “This Is America.” No to mention his role as Han Solo in the new Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. This fall, he’s heading out on tour with the possibility of more new music on the way. Could a Rihanna collaboration be in the stars as well? Let us know what you think in the comments.
