WY Inmate Death

John Manuel Garcia, a Wyoming inmate, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 following an apparent suicide attempt at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington.  Garcia was taken by paramedics to the Banner Health Community Hospital in Torrington where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 am. 

Garcia was sentenced on September 24, 2018 by Carbon County District Court Judge Snyder.  He was serving three to five years for the felony of Property Destruction.  Garcia was born on July 19, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas. As required by department policy an autopsy has been ordered along with an investigation.
