Press Release – The Wyoming Integrated Test Center in Gillette was honored for their leadership in carbon capture storage technology today, receiving the Peabody Global Clean Coal Award at a ceremony in Orlando, Florida.
“From the beginning, the Wyoming Integrated Test has been focused on changing the game for carbon capture not just here in the United States, but around the world,” said Jason Begger, Executive Director of the Wyoming Infrastructure Authority. “By creating an adaptable space for scientists to test new technologies at an operating power plant, we can accelerate research and open up a whole new world for the commercialization of carbon management technologies. On behalf of all the ITC project partners, including the State of Wyoming, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, we’re honored to receive the 2018 Peabody Clean Coal Award as a Carbon Capture Storage Pioneer.”
Begger received the award on behalf of the Wyoming ITC at the awards ceremony today. A press release on the awards from Peabody can be found below.
