DANCE FUNDS FOR ROCKPILE MUSEUM SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Press Release – Put on your dancin’ shoes and bring your appetite to the Rockpile Museum Association’s 2nd Annual Dance Through The Decades. Groove to the music of the 40’s to 90’s and enjoy a steak dinner for the low price of $25 per person. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Costumes.

Join us at Gillette’s Campbell County Senior Center. D.J. Ron Sawyer will spin the music. Doors open at 6 p.m.; dinner will begin at 6:30 with a cash bar available. The dancing goes on until 11 pm. There will be a Silent Auction, along with a 50-50 drawing and Smokin’ Hot Raffle. Liven up your summer with our Smokin’ Hot Raffle—three prizes—Weber Spirit 2-burner grill, Weber 18-1/2” Smoker and STOK Collapsible Grill-on wheels– tickets at $20 each. .

The proceeds will benefit the RMA’s Summer Internship Program at the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. Stop by the Rockpile for your tickets between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Please call the Rockpile at 307-682-5723 for more information.

The basis for the Rockpile Museum Association internship stems from the overall goal and vision to provide exceptional educational experiences. This not only includes programming and exhibits, but also educational opportunities for emerging professionals in the field of museums and archives. The anticipated results of this internship include a greater knowledge of cataloging and artifact handling, as well has how to research and develop exhibits that reach local, regional, and national audiences.

This exciting paid opportunity includes housing, passes to area recreational facilities, memberships to historical organizations, tickets to events and attractions, and a monthly stipend. Not only will the museum benefit from additional helping hands, the intern will also have the chance to explore the many opportunities Gillette, and Campbell County, has to offer.” Angela Beenken, Registrar, Campbell County Rockpile Museum.

The Rockpile Museum Association’s mission is to promote support, and assist the Campbell County Rockpile Museum’s offerings of cultural and educational opportunities by providing volunteer assistance and financial support. RMA was founded as a nonprofit organization in 1993. The Rockpile Museum Association is a 501(c)(3) organization.
