Cement Truck Getaway Unsuccessful

At 11:12 p.m. Wednesday a Gillette police officer attempted a traffic stop on a 32 year old male. Lieutenant Brent Wasson said the suspect failed to stop his pickup truck, exited the interstate and entered the temporary RV City at Camp-Plex, he later drove through numerous yards at Fox Park Subdivision.He eventually crashed the truck into a ditch across from the Port of Entry and fled on foot.

He was located in a stolen cement truck at the Simon Construction lot, the suspect eventually drove through numerous fences which were drug behind the cement truck. During the collision with fences it appears the trucks air tank was damaged causing the brakes to lock. The suspect was extricated after officers broke a window.

He was taken into custody, Wasson said meth was found in the suspect’s possession. Charges were still being evaluated this morning as damage was being assessed. The CCSO assisted in the pursuit and arrest.
